You can have 2 of each species of rattlesnake native to california, that means you can have 2, your mom, dad, brother, friend or anyone living in your house can have 2 also.Secondley, you do not need a fishing license to own california natives only to collect them in the wild. And last of all,you can breed ,sell, buy, trade or whatever else you want to do with albino western diamondback rattlesnakes in california.

WOW, u must have your work cut out for you. great to see someone taking in all the pets people dont want anymore. u have totally got my respect. i would love to come check out the place one day. how does one set an appointment for a tour?
Go to the contact us page on the website and give us a call.
But if you collect and keep a native snake you need to be able to produce a fishing license to prove you legally collected it correct?
Foot Hill Reptiles
NO,YOU ONLY NEED A LICENSE WHEN YOU ARE IN THE PROCESS OF COLLECTING OR ATTEMPTING TO COLLECT. AND YOU DO NOT NEED A FISHING LICENSE TO COLLECT RATTLESNAKES AT ALL!IT'S AMAZING HOW MANY TIMES I'VE BEEN ASKED TO PRODUCE A FISHING LICENSE BY FISH AND GAME WARDENS IN CALIFORNIA RECARDING CROTES. THEY DON'T KNOW THERE OWN LAWS,THATS WHY I KEEP A COPY FOR THEM IN THE CAR(THEY LOVE THAT).
But its not legal to buy, sell, trade, import or export any native reptiles without proper documentation from the department correct? Therefor it would seem to me if you have one in you posesion you better also have documentation showing you got it legally weather it was purchased or collected.

wow, i contacted the dfg about a month ago regarding collecting rattlesnakes and they said and long as i had a fishing liscense it was fine. as long as its only 2.
doesnt surprise me that much tho. i cant imagine to many people collecting. so they probably dont study up in that section. lol
were can one print this info out?
JUST GET ONE OF THOSE FISHING GUIDLINE BOOKS THEY HAVE AT WALMART OR ANY PLACE YOU CAN GET A FISHING LICENSE. IN THE BACK OF THE BOOK IT TELLS YOU THE RULES FOR COLLECTING REPTILES,IT SAYS RIGHT THERE THAT NO LICENSE IS REQUIRED FOR THE TAKE OF ANY RATTLESNAKE.YOU CAN HAVE 2 OF EACH TYPE OF RATTLESNAKE FOUND IN CALIFORNIA.
cool thanks ill be sure to go pick one up asap just to be sure.
