I was wondering with the cost of heating this year. I have a wood buring stove. Wood the fumes or what ever from the fire hurt the snakes and lizards. i hate to use the stove with out knowing. Thanks

I live in the Santa Cruz mountains, in California. Our entire upstairs is heated by a wood stove. As long as you are burning wood, and not Duraflame or pellets, I wouldn't worry at all.

If you do have a pellet stove, I don't believe that it would be an issue either, as long as the stove is properly vented and you know how to use it. (if you have permits for it, than it already is properly vented)

The only issue I have noted is that sometimes you can get some really hot wood and lose control of the temperature. (I had a cord of eucalyptus and that stuff is outrageous!) As long as you are home and can regulate the temperature by opening doors and windows, you shouldn't have a problem with overheating your pets.
