Haha, she sure looks like a porker. Maybe try giving her an extra couple days between feedings?

That is as close to being 'obese' as I've ever seen! I'm staying out of this one, cause I'm a 'feed feed feed' guy, but that thing needs a treadmill!
Steve Harrison
how often are you feeding her and what are you feeding?
UP your basking temps to close to 100 Degrees and let the animal be able to metabolize what your feeding it. You could seriously feed the thing every day as long as you are giving it choices in temperature gradients. Contrary to human belief, these animals know what these basking temperatures are and how to use them. Don't give them the choices and you end up with an obese and un-healthy animal.
don't you know your manners when talking about a female's weight. Geez man.

maybe looking a little pin headed, but I bet she would go on a hunger strike before she gets too bad. If they ain't shedding and poopin', they ain't growin'.

My snakes aren't fat, they're big boned.
I would say she's fine. My female is a year old and 1327 grams and 3 1/2 feet long and eating a large rat every 8 days.
Tiny little head huge round body = too fat ball.

We should kill all our ball pythons then because they all fit that description!
Now onto blood pythons....
Stevo
My first ball was a pig and fat like that, proportions were almost the same. She went from 85 grams to a year later being 1200 grams and 3/12 feet. She has been a very picky eater for the last couple of months so personally I am glad that she was a pig!

I've heard some people say that female balls that got real big and hefty fast ended up laying slugs for them in their first season. What do you think?
I don't know, I have no experience breeding, I am waiting on age to be on the safe side so I haven't bred her yet. I have heard that as well.
