i had my 04 genetic striped female pass away on me unknowingly. she had an enlrged area about 2.5 feet back from her head in the heart region. she became listless and involuntary in a very short time and passed quickly. this was a post i put on most forums im on.

she just passed minutes ago so i did wha t i could and ended up extracting 20 eggs. i dont think they are viable but well see what happens with them, she was due to lay this fri so i might be ok yet. in all the sadness therer are two things that get me about this situation. she was one of very few animals i bought as an adult, and as sad as it was with the extent i am into this hobby and having not bred for very long this is a good experience to have and to DEAL with personally. it was very educational to myself and a well learned lesson that no matter what you do, anything can happen.

basic timeline is cut her open through the belly, and showing the eggs in the oviducts??? correct my terminology if its wrong. then i went up to the heart and hae the ast pics showing her heart totally huge and inflamed.

many thanx to kevin mccurley and andy for their guidance through this process. thanx to bebo, david, and others who called for ideas to help out. and also thanx to the friends who called and wrote to send their wishes. its all greatly appreciated.

hopefully this will help someone f they see there animal acting/looking different to avoid this happening.

It's always sad losing an animal. Those eggs maybe good but their chances of making it generally aren't good. Good luck with them!
