fire pastel's - stupid questions...

djdelee Dec 06, 2007 10:22 AM

1) what makes up a fire pastel and

2) do you think that the fire pastel is going to take the place of reg pastel's due to the fact that they only get better with age?

thanks in advance

Fire Pastel is just as the title says. A Fire combo with a Pastel. It is a double co-dom morph.

I like them very much, but "better" is relative. You can do more with them combo wise than just a standard pastel for sure.
Pastels are still fabulous animals without any combos mixed in.

1) Like Lady Ohh said, a fire pastel is just a fire and a pastel.

2) Nope. Have you seen how much those things cost? Just a fire costs a pretty penny...I think the fire pastel will remain at least as expensive as a super pastel, if not more so. They're gorgeous, but then so is a bee, and it's a combination of two codom morphs as well...

Just my two cents!

if you think a bee is great - which i agree with - imagine what a fire pastel X a spider would look like !

i don't think they will take its place for two reasons the first is when fires are bred together you get the black eyed lucy and two there is way too many combos to say that one will take over for another just my 2 cents

do we know what a fire pastel X fire pastel will produce ? do you think a matching would look even more awsome - due to the pastel, or do you think you would just get a lucy - due to the fire ?

If pastel improves an Ivory, a Lucy might get a boost also.

well Ralph davis did a breeding of pastel lesser x pastel lesser this year if I'm correct. The resulting lucy from the clutch was a little "whiter" but that is it. The pastel ivory has the added lemon yellow wash and head pattern due to the fact it isn't a completely white snake.

This would be a great pairing! You would have a possibility of producing:

Pastels
FIREs
Super Pastels
Super Pastel FIRES
Black-Eyed Leucistics

We don't at present know if they will look any different from a "normal" black-eyed leucy. After all, the black-eyed (along with the Russo) is already among the cleanest white leucys out there....

I'd rather see vanilla pastel x vanilla pastel. the vanilla pastel is as nice as the fire pastel and yet the super vanilla gene isn't white.

with this breeding you could get:

vanilla
pastel
super vanilla
super pastel
vanilla pastel
super vanilla pastel
vanilla super pastel
super vanilla super pastel

and with these you would have no problem telling them apart and none would be a white snake (even though I do love white snakes there are easier ways to produce them).

I would take a fire over a vanilla 10 to 1.

well that's your opinion. name a combo with the fire that the vanilla doesn't do almost the same thing and then add the super vanilla trait and can the fire do the same? NOPE!!
