My son was sick the other day and my sister came over to watch him while I was working. She was holding my 3 month old Okeetee and didnt close the lid on his cage properly when she was done. I did see him in his hide that night but when I went to feed him last night he was gone. I couldnt find him anywhere. I have already laid out tape traps and put water and a couple of pinks for him. So wish me luck and I will let you know if I find him.

I almost forgot to thank Don for the ideas for catching him that I got out of his book.

Hope ya have it rounded up by now, but if not, tape works best. NOT good tape. Painter's or masking tape is safest. Once they attempt to free themselves from the first stick, all Heck breaks loose. I've actually found some that managed themselves into a knot, trying to get free. I used to lay the tape flat on the floor (next to the wall) with the sticky side up, but now, I just let the tape fall to the floor in a ribbon-like heap. More directional facets of sticky tape to trip on. What a mess, but they're relatively easy to get off, and it beats never finding them OR finding them dead somewhere months later. This is an albino gray rat that thought he was pretty clever getting out of his cage. I showed him.

I noticed that my 2 month old creamscicle shed this morning and pulled the shed out then had to run to work.I have her in a 20L Zilla tank and apparently in my rush broke off one of the plastic clips. There is about a quarter inch opening at the top where the locking clip was now. When I came home from work I started to clean her water bowl and noticed she was no where to be found! I have spent the past 7 hours turning my apartment upside down and still no sign of her! Trust me the tank is empty. I live in Alabama and it is pretty cold here now so I don't "think" she got outside. Any advice would be great. I plan on trying the tape thing Don suggested but if there is ANY thing else I can try...................

Make sure you put out some water just in case it takes a few days and you might also try putting the tank on the floor on its side and sometimes they will return to it due to the fact that they are territorial and that is where they are comfortable. Makes you wonder why they ever leave in the first place sometimes.

You'd be surprised how many people call me a few days after their initial crisis to tell me the snake was up inside ceramic decorations in the cage. Had one guy that found his snake in the cage there weeks after its "escape", but only when he was looking for the replacement snake I sent. They were both up inside a ceramic fixture in the cage.

I posting this under AHHHH!!!!! as well..........

After the ear piercing scream I heard coming from the office... I ran to my fiancee' who was going through some baby clothes in a trash bag to get rid of before our baby comes. Come to find out our little corn was wrapped around a onesie inside the bag!!! Both are fine now though I think after the scare I almost became a daddy tonight!! The tank is secure now. Fixed the hole where the clip came off and saw her try to get out again to no avail but will be keeping a xtra set of eyes on her from now on! Thanks everyone for your help!

Congrats on finding her. And on the baby too. I have an 8 year old, and he is kind of the reason I am into corns. Unfortunatly I havnt had the luck finding my Okeetee yet but I live in an old house and our store room gets mice in it occasionally. I think he may have found a meal and wont be out and about till he has finished proccessing it.
