I've seen something similar like this on my wild-caught tokay. A trip to the vet got him a course of baytril and a disinfection soap that we had to scrub on the spot twice daily. He recovered.

I've heard of instances of a "black spots" causing septic infection (internal infection) and utimimatly death.

Prudence would say take him to a vet.

25$$ for office visit alone on a 20$ animal thats beyond insane.... oh well ive already taken matters into my own hands... i was recomended to take a sterile pair of scissors and cut the tail off above the infection and put neosporin on it.... so ive done just that .. amazing thing is he didnt hesitate a bit after i chopped it off... oh well i hope he's gonna get better

It is a shame that the import business has reduced the tokay to a throw away animal. Where we decide that it's life isn't worth the time or money. I don't blame the individual here I blame the ones who gave them access to the animal in the first place. Who cheapened it's worth to make a few bucks. I know on a soapbox for a 20.00 animal but if we are not willing to take responsibility for our charges then maybe we shouldn't have them. Or maybe we should make tokays worth 1000.00 each then we would say yes this animal is worth the time and money. I am sorry you feel that way and I hope your at home veterinary care works. Tokays are tough but sometimes they do need a little help.
