Help! My PacMan's constipated

Pweablo Dec 06, 2007 04:54 PM

My adult Pacman frog has been constipated for about a week now and is now bloated to the size of a tennis ball. He is solid, not squishy, and is always sitting in the water half of the tank--which is not normal for him. I've been feeding him feeder fish for about 3/4 of a year. Is there any remedy for this? Should I continue feeding him? Could the fish be what's causeing the constapation?

I would take it to the vet for exam and X-ray. It likely isn't a simple constipation. Clean the cage out and simplify it. Bare minimum, no substrate except a little bit of sphagnum moss on the land half which is changed daily. After all is well again, you can refurbish the enclosure. In the mean time, this "hospital enclosure" will allow closer observation, better cleanliness, and more ease towards any treatment regimn the vet prescribes.

Good luck,
Ian
