He's quite handsome. Here is my female with 2 of my boxies.

Are your (both of you) hingebacks personable? Or are they shy?
I have limited experience with them but one male I had years ago was very outgoing while another I had in high school was rather shy. Both were very healthy and great feeders though.

It seems that these guys (hingebacks in general) have very specific personalities (like most tortoises) in that they can be like rocks or Redfoots. I recently got some Spekes that are amazing animals in that they were like little mice right out of the box.

Then I've got some Spekes from a few years back which run hot and cold.

I had a couple of adoptions, one an Erosa and one Bells, that had the most outstanding personalities... the Bells was killed on a breeding loan(I'm very bitter about that one) and I don't know what became of the Erosa but it was raised by another 'clueless' keeper and it was fantastic.

My female is a true lady. She is very dainty. She really seems to smile at you, most of the time. She loves to play in the water and blow bubbles. I wouldn't say she is out going nor would I say she is shy. She is very pleasant and doesn't mind me watching her. She also likes watching me. She definitely has a good appetite and will eat with gusto.

I wouldn't say my guy is outgoing but he isn't shy either. He likes to watch what is going on and doesn't really mind if you watch him. He really doesn't mind being handled that much. He eats great (just in the process of improving his diet and adding new things) and does a lot of exercise and loves his water dish.
I haven't had him that long, he was given to me by a friend so we are still getting to know each other.
