I have set up a nice vivarium for a male and female crested. Since their transition into the larger tank they have remained hidden for several days now. I catch a glimpse of the female but the male seems to stay in hidding. Is this normal?

tape some paper over three of the sides.

Thank you. I did do that upon setting up the vivarium. I did notice they are sticking together. Could it just be an adjustment thing? I also have a red bulb in place with an average temp of 74 during the day. Should I turn it off or set it on a timer? Thanks again.
it's normal , they are tentative in new digs.
if the tank is planted...plant light 12 hours, red light 12 hours.
if it's all phony...ambient light for daytime, red light 12 hours.
good luck.

Just a note, red light is not needed.
Unless you have your cresteds in the basement, normal room temp is fine, and if it is cold, some would argue a turned down UTH is a better solution. Red light is typically just for human viewing, we do fine with, say, the hall light on and nothing in the room for our viewing pleasure. Just another opinion.
