Folks, I am sure we all have our stories which are amusing. This one made me laugh so hard I almost choked. So grab a coffee, curl up by the fire, and hear my tale...My hunting partner and I had made a mad dash to the river road from the DFW area. It was our first night out. We had hunted back and forth along the road since about 9:30 pm. I don't think we saw much. Usual stuff, suboc, night snakes, atrox, etc... It is my usual pattern that on the first night, I am unable to hunt past around 2:30 or 3. (unless I get a nap) We hunted back and forth across the hill and down to the mill. My eyes were getting tired and it was time to put in for the night. So we decided to park and one of the pull offs and the east side of the Big Hill. My partner made it clear he would be unable to sleep without working on "project duex". So he took a large 5 watt flashlight and a walkie talkie, jumped the brick wall and went to look for a good spot to drop trow. I was getting relaxed in the vehicle and shutting my eyes and 5 minutes went by. Then outta now where I hear the walkie start cracklin "crkkr crrkrkr crrkrkr!" I look up and I see this light going nuts in the sky. I start calling for my partner on the walkie but I hear a bunch of scuffling where the light is at and I make my way to the wall. My partner has his pants mostly pulled up and laughing his A$$ off. Apparently he had just got relaxed and was getting to the "duty" and he looked and saw a javelina that looked about to charge. He had to stop mid push and pull the pants up and make a run for the wall. I laughed so hard when I realized that was his flashlight in his hands going nuts trying to run, hold his pants up and radio at the same time... VISUALIZE THAT!!!!

One of the funniest stories I have ever heard. I woke up after that a bit. No alterna but a memory for a lifetime.

Best Wishes,

Steven Owens
