Costal Carpet

GaBallPythons Dec 07, 2007 09:28 PM

Lately I have been entertaining the idea of owning a Costal Carpet or two, however before I make a decision I would like to know a few things

I know how long they get however I do not know how big (weight) they get, can someone give me an idea of the average weight for an adult male and an adult female.

Is it realistic for a woman to get such a snake or do I need a second person. (I usually work alone with my snakes (Balls and Milk), hubby is not into snakes at all).

Thank you for your time.

Carpets, are a very easy species to work with. Granted you have exceptions from babies that are nippy and uncontrollable for about a year at maximum however they are the best snakes ive ever had and Id suggest getting a pair. Or at least one. wouldnt give up mine for anything

Keep in mind that the nippy part is indeed most generally a baby thing. Most out grow it quickly some take a year, and every snakes personality is different Ive had baby carpets that were docile when they hatched and Ive had carpets that wanted to bite me until they were about a year old.

Would strongly suggest looking around before getting one, each breeder is different with a different stock and they will all turn out different as adults.
