How many watts

Dave763 Dec 08, 2007 10:26 AM

of heat will I need for a refrigerator turned incubator? I have 50 watts of heat cable and a couple UTHs.
I was just going to plug it all into a helix and see what happens, some guesstimates would be handy. Thanks.

Alrighty then. Thanks for the help(not). The 50 watt cable took about 15 minutes to go from 72F to 88F inside a magic chef wine cooler.
Ever get the feeling that you might be getting snubbed? If you ain't in the clique you get ridiculed or ignored. Thats why I post here so little. If your not one of the resident experts, or a big breeder just keep quiet.

Oh well no big deal, get used to it, lol.

Rule of thumb: 10-15 watts/cu. ft. of space.

No worries, I have a few 5.3 cu. ft. Danby bar fridges that I modified out and use 3 panels of 11" heat tape in with a Herpstat II and they work swimmingly.
