I don't understandstand this... (long...)

Well it all started when I went to soak my Ajah today...

usualy she hates it when I put her in her soaking box ( she wont soak herself in her enclosure ) but today was different. She just sat in the water with no objections. That may not seem strange to most of you all, but to me it was perplexing. No fight. At all. Thats just the start.

Let me back track a little for you before I go on. About 2 weeks ago I took her into the vet because she was wheezing alot and she would, about everyday, sometimes a couple times a day though usualy at night, make an extremly loud wheeze type of noise and it would make her whole hidebox jump. Literaly. So needless to say I was worried and took her right in to the vet. They gave me two vials of Cefotaxime and some needles. (she's realy good about the needles)I've been giving her the shots and I no longer hear the wheeze or see the jump. Seemed like we were headed in a positive direction. Until today.

It was so interesting to me that she was so calm that I had to sit and watch to see how long this would last. Thats when I noticed that the problem was still there. She was breathing so heavy it was making little ripples in the water. I've never seen her breathe like this before. (It was in her upper chest area)I'm going to schedule an emergency vet visit tomorrow. This is about her 6th time in about as many months, an ongoing problem here. But I guess i'll have a little more insight tomorrow on whats going on, seeing as i'm not a vet.

Then, about 2 hours later, my roomate brought her outside where I was cleaning her enclosure. She was fine for the first couple minutes until she went ballistic. She was thrashing around violently to get away. Again, never done this before. It was so bad my roomate almost dropped her, I caught her, and it was just like Steve Irwin holding an extremly pissed off Spitting Cobra. It was crazy! I was most suprised that in her relentlessness to get away she never stuck at me. Not once. She never has before either, but she's never been like that before either. I have no clue what it was that set her off, but I got her into her soaking box (luckily I had it outside)quick, fast and in a hurry. After I brought her in she was fine, her normal self again. But oh no, thats not all.

I noticed a gash on the top of her head (from a rat bite awhile ago, i've since started stunning them)that had re-opened. It seemed to have been healed already, but apparently not. I applied some hydrogen peroxide and it bubbled up like a fart in the bathtub. I can't win for losing! So now I have yet another worry. Infection. Sorry this is so long for the brave souls that saw this and decided to read it, but I've got to get it out. You just happen to be my psuedo therapist. I'll keep you all posted tomorrow on what the vet says. Keep your fingers crossed for us. And again, thanks for letting me babble.

Raymond

WELL...........? Don't leave us hanging like that. What happened at the vet. You said you would post it the next day. Come on. We took the time to read the novel, now let us know how it ends!!! (hehehe) Just kidding. I really do hope the snakes resperitory infection has been taken care of. Best of luck, and seriously, how does the book end?
