I'm picking him up tomorrow, all I know is that he's a male.

I'm thinking he's a similis or at least partly similis.
Ctenosaura similis. I have one who looks just like that.
Cool, that's what I suspected. I'll post some more pics of him tomorrow, maybe someone more knowledgeable than myself could help me id where in Central America he might have come from.
Chances are that Similis didn't come from any part of Central America, more likely from here in good ol' Florida.
you make me so jealous, haha, that boy is awesome, sacramento reptile rescue, let me hold him and take pictures with him over the summer. he is dog tame by the way. he looks like similis, but the rescuers suspected he might be something else too.
He's my first spinytail! I can't believe how calm and mellow he is!
Funny thing is he acts more like a Tegu or a Monitor than an iguana. Flicks his tongue and has the slow methodical gait of a monitor. Definitely nothing like the Green iguanas or Cycluras that I'm used to!
Definately similis and with a lot of potential to be a beautiful animal. I've had a couple of really nice males. Be cautious though, they can pack a wallop of a bite!
Those two look great!
