Baby Hog Stopped Eating

bsharrah Dec 09, 2007 10:03 AM

I have a 2007 CB female western hog that I picked up in
September. It was eating f/t and live pinkies weekly up until about a month ago. It doesn't seem interested in either anymore. Is it normal for these to go off feed like this? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

It's normal and a couple of mine have done the same..

You can try to feed it sa few more times and if it does not take you can hibernate it for a few weeks and it will begin eating again when you warm it up..

Good Luck!

Thanks Mike. Can you tell me what temps you cool yours at? Is it a gradual decrease in temps? Sorry for my ignorance but I never had species that required cooling until recently.

yes drop the temp gradually.. The temperature for hibernation should be between 55 and 59 F. check on him and give him clean water every week or so.
