You may not hunt utilizing the rock cuts, Right of way, or road. You may drive as you normally would and observe wildlife or take pictures. You may walk along the sides of the road and take pictures as well. You may not manipulate the animals or attempt to pursue them or capture them.

My advice, if you plan on observing wildlife, bring nothing with you but food and drinks for yourself, lights, and a good camera. No bags, no hooks and no trouble.

Best Wishes,

Steven Owens

You CAN’T walk cuts with a bag
But you CAN walk cuts as a gag.
You CAN’T walk cuts with a hook
But you CAN walk cuts with a book
You CAN’T walk cuts while you hunt
But you CAN walk cuts and smoke a blunt
You CAN’T hunt cuts as you walk along
But you CAN walk cuts in your thong
Walking cuts is really fine
I like to walk cuts all the time

You CAN'T hunt them from a car!
But you CAN take pictures from afar!
You CAN'T put live ones in a jar!
But you can peel the flat ones from the tar!
I like to hunt those little gray snakes...
Especially the live ones and not the fakes!

ST

ps-anyone want to add some?

blakemolone Dec 10, 2007 12:01 PM

Nice! I like the peeling flat ones from the tar lol!

StuTennyson Dec 10, 2007 12:17 PM

Glad you like em!

Steve's reply gave me the idea and struck a funny bone. I'm just having fun with it cuz I have too much time on my hands this morning!

Take care!

My friend catches while I doze
He caught four right under my nose!
He catches them one, two, three and four
All in one night, I cannot thcore! (Butthead)
But I will hunt them in a new place
I will flaunt them in his face!
He will see me catch a few
That guy they call the King of Blue.
Alterna Joe told me how to score'em
The rest I learned from the alterna forum.
Until that day when they are in my hands
I will settle for these c.b. graybands! (River Roads from Chris Garcia)

Aaron Dec 10, 2007 08:58 PM

I only want to catch a snake
that's common and not rare
But away my rights they take
and no one seems to care
To walk the cuts at night in peace
and such a thing is good
All my worry it could cease
but ban this thing they would
So stand and fight we must
For it was a sneak attack
Let's turn their law to dust
and pay those suckers back

I like this one... straight from the heart.

Thanks, yours were cool too, as they all were. I wonder if those guys are watching thinking sheesh these gray band hunters even write poetry about those snakes.

StuTennyson Dec 11, 2007 01:43 PM

These guys a so passionate about their hobby they're probably not going away any time soon!

antelope Dec 11, 2007 08:02 PM

Take on the entire system. Sounds like a good movie. Maybe with Al Pacino... Jack Black to play the part of Steve Owens.

Stu to be played by none other than Will Smith. (Sorry Stu, our movie has to be diverse and inclusive). (he can even sing the wild wild west song, on the way to Sanderson)...

Roy Engeldorf to be played by Woody Harrelson... Lance can be played by himself. (sorry lance, nobody can play you)

Something is coming together here... I can feel it.

Later,

SXO792

Aaron Dec 12, 2007 12:05 AM

Hilderbrand could be played by Boss Hogg and Kercheval by Roscoe P. Coletrain.

lbenton Dec 12, 2007 01:12 PM

I think they would both be better played by the late Jim Varney

stevenxowens792 Dec 10, 2007 03:39 PM

I like the ones without orange blotches
I like the ones that come in my clutches

Great cheer to those who have lots of bands
Great cheer to those I catch with my hands

Surprise to see one crawling on a cut
Surprise to catch one in front of my truck

Many watt lights to shine my way
Many watt lights bright as day

archaeo1 Dec 10, 2007 05:40 PM

You lighten my day from far away.
Thanks guys.

StuTennyson Dec 10, 2007 05:51 PM

Maybe we need to write a book of Alterna poetry or at least start a new category on the forum! What fun!

ST

antelope Dec 10, 2007 07:37 PM

I will not write it during spring
I have to do some other things
I will write them when it's cold
After leaves have turned to gold.
Next year's to be great, so I'm told!

I like to hunt them, yes I do!
One time I found them, two by two!
I like to hunt them, how about you?
If you hunt them, I will too!
I like to hunt them, by starlight!
Sometimes I grab them, and they bite!
I like to hunt them, it is my right!
Try to stop me, and I will fight!

Okay, they're not Gray Bands (although we DO have a few of them, as well!), but their names fit this thread:
