Ctenosaura diet

ramonesfan Dec 09, 2007 02:04 PM

Any opinions on feeding ctenosaura prepared foods...I purchased a group of baby similis from Manny and they seem reall fond of Rep-Cal Iguana diet...I like to keep it part of their whole diet but not as their sole source of food.

Secondly, I've read of diets based almost solely of mixed greens...well, these guys are crazy for crickets and I was also considering adding differewnt fruits and veggies to their diet...any more opinions?

RepCal is OK as a supplement. Soak it with water or fruit juice first to help keep them hydrated. A well rounded Green Iguana diet is suitable for similis and I add some animal protein once a month or so for adults. Juvies may get a few crix weekly. Basically 70% a variety of greens, 30% vegetables, and throw in bugs and fruit for treats.
