I buy lab diet's, rat diet. They have a website, that you can go to, to find the closest place to get it. I buy a 50lb bag for 25 bucks at a feed store. Hope this helps.

hey thanks for your reply, I went to their site and nothings located in my area(southern vt), but thank you anyway

$25......wow.......my store just went up to $17.39 a bag and I am not happy...it's gone up like 5 times this year...from 30 to 70 cents at a time.........they keep saying the price went up for them due to corn prices and all rising and gas also......wonder why mice prices had to be dropped? and snake prices go down weekly?.....suxx

......check Agways and other Feed type stores if that fails ask the local mom and pop pet shops how much they'd charge for 50 pounds?.........if all else fails look online for it ..delivery will suck........

If that all faisl to give good results use any cheap dog food that isn't dyed red........

you can see what feed stores asks for whole kernal (shelled) corn and whole non-sifted.sorted oats also.....it's like 50 pounds for $6.50......$7.50........it can be used along with the dog food or lab chunks....

.....ask pet shops and stores about torn bags......never chewed into bags though.....if wild mice got in them don't use it.....!....

oooo that sounds like a GREAT deal! I think there's an Ace Hardware pretty close to me!

thanks!!

wh00h0069 Dec 09, 2007 07:23 PM

I wouldn't have thought that ace hardware would have sold that. Thanks. I will look into that.

Either did I. A friend of mine told me he got his at Ace and I was surprised. Anywhere that sell purina products can order it for you.

"Aldi" brand dogfood, if you're familiar w/that grocery chain! It's 1/2% fat content than "Dad's" but much cheaper! I'll have to check prices now though, as it's gone up twice this year! My rodents love it and they breed like, well, rodents!

whats the protein in the dog food?

brianray Dec 10, 2007 01:02 AM

For the past 6 months I have been feeding my rats a brand called Great Choice. I get the adult kind with 21% protein and 9% fat. It costs about 13 bucks at petsmart for 40 pounds.
