I don't believe the bah-1000 is a new product. I bought one about 4 years ago from them and I thought it was a piece of junk. You're much better off buying a proportional thermostat like a Helix than one that just turns on and off to regulate the temp. I've even seen the same exact thermostat with different stickers on it being marketed at other places so I'm pretty sure the bah-1000 is probably just mass produced generically in china and whoever wants to sell them just makes up their own name for it and puts their stickers on it. Just my 2 cents.

The on/off thermostat in the post below (on/off thermostat horror) was a BAH-1000.

I'd consider using one as a backup after using a proportional helix or herpstat but definitely not as my main thermostat.

my 2 cents from experience losing snakes to a broken thermostat.

I looked and actually ordered a couple....but ONLY as backups.

Really you don't want to spare any expense on the safety of your investment. I would say they are great as backups (assuming you check to make sure they are operational every 3 months or so) but I would definitely use some sort of a redundant system.

my 2 cents.
