Wouldn't you know it? My computer is dying... I've had problems for a while now but it's on it's last legs right now. DH the computer nerd says the hard drive is just about shot so I'm lucky to be able to be here at the moment.
Christmas will be here soon, this will all change by then.
Santa Claws will bring me a new one I'm sure because I've been a good girl this year.

I am having box turtle problems as well though.
I have revised my opinion on UVB lighting for babies. I wasn't using it because I 'thought' I was giving baby enough sunlight but I found that in some spots baby feels too soft so I have a new UVB bulb already shipped but not here yet. Local pet store doesn't have anything I can use so I mail ordered. They emailed to say it's been shipped & I've always had good luck with this reptile supplier in the past so I think the bulb will be here tomorrow or Tuesday.
Last week we were lucky, it was in the 70s every day from Mon- Sat. so baby Kibbles was out every day soaking up real sunlight. Sitting in a container on the porch in front of the door where I could see him or her. With the sharp-shinned hawk back & hunting here again, I had to sit & watch the baby every day.
Last night the weather changed completely. I need that bulb now for sure.

The other problem is Cookie the foster turtle. I noticed when I first brought her in for winter that she was not using the warm side as she should so now she has a hint of respiratory problems that we're treating with the nebulizer, if that doesn't help enough in a week or so vet will do something different for her.
Otherwise everyone else seems ok. Those who went underground when they should have did not pop out when it was warm last week so I assume they're doing fine.
If I lose my computer completely in the next week or 2, I hope you all have a great holiday!

Hello Phratz
sounds like your in for a major drop from S.Claws.Will it fit through the chimney?
My own personal Mr.Wonderful built a lid for hatchling village that allows me to place it outside, unattended (except for rain watch.) He built it out of scrap 1"wood sides and REAL heavy screen. the orig purpose was to keep Nani cat out and be able to support her weight when she decides to sleep on the top.
All 3 of mine were out and about, ate some papaya, mushed around the commercial turtle food and each ate a couple of worms.
Holiday good cheer to you./p

...and the screening has 1/2 inch holes, so it lets in a great amount of light.

First of all let me say I think you are great Ratz, and you really take good care of and really emotionally care for your BTs, so don't take what I am about to say personally....but I think you actually enjoy making things more complicated than they have to be
