what does "Ranched" mean? Whats the difference from "Farmed"? Is this sorta like a "puppy mill" but for snakes??

Thanks

Ranched, farmed, captive hatched (CH) all mean the same.
Babies born in Africa on a farm and shipped out right after hatching.

The term "Farm" is IMHO a little misleading.

I don't believe they are practicing animal husbandry (i.e. breeding ball pythons). I believe these babies come from eggs dug up in the wild or from gravid females dug up in the wild.

Kinda makes you wonder what they do to the females after they drop? Unfortunately, it is most likely not a good outcome for most of them I would suspect?

Some of those farms are breeding Ball Pythons, just the higher end animals. The Females they collect gravid are usually exported after they drop; In some countries they do/are suspossed to release a percentage back to where they were collected. However, the resource is sustainable and the economy it supports isn't going away any time soon.
