If I had the space Id like to have a V. Yemensis, but Ive never ..

Seen one available ever. They have that Albig look to them.

Hi Shvar,

Yes, I got a good close up look at V. yemenensis earlier this summer - very subtle differences in my opinion. They are definetely of the albigularis-complex. They are known to Yemen, and Horn of Africa in Djibouti. There are perhaps 25 localities known, with maybe half that number in museum collections (preserved).

In 1992, there was 1.1 available, and in 1993 1 available from New York. There is a fellow in Florida who a "few" I'm told from reliable source but do not know of him personally, only by (good) reputation.

They were for high dollar when available. However if you "dig" around libraries, professors around the world in disciplines like botany, geology, hydrology it is amazing what they can tell you about "that big lizard they saw under a bush or water hole" type of stuff...
