eggs

ovum have no shells..they start out very small and grow and grow till they are almost full sized......then ovulation takes place where the ovum drop from ovaries into the oviducts and get fertilized....then the fertilized (or not) ovum re-align and move into like lines on both sides of the females' body(unless one ovary doesn't work).....there they will be shelled in layers ,,,then drop down the oviducts before being laid......after they drop and grow we can really see they are gravid.....then usually a pre-lay shed , then after the right amount of time (the eggs tell the female's organs when it's time).........the eggs are deposited.....

........temps play a bif part.....average like 10 days after prelay shed for corns can become 16 days or more let's say if the weather (cage ) is too cold......or faster if the eggs grew really fast and female is a well fed mature female that is an old pro at laying viable eggs...

.......anyways.........you can cut open female snakes at alot of times during the year and see ovum in the ovaries.....at times they are a few different sizes.......you can cut open turtles and find all kinds of ovum on them.........birds also...chickens will have eggs and ovum of all stages .........they lay an egg a day almsot and have ovum down to pinhead sizes lined up waiting their turn to grow like an assembly line.......(people cut up chickens, and some will fry up these different sized yolks and eat them........basically all yolk...)....

.......you may have seen veins starting to wrap around these ovum even ........?.......they may or may not have left the ovaries and may or may not have been fertilized?????....

thanks for the compliments. I purchased these from a friend of tom crutchfields and was toldthat was who they came from but as far as local this guy never cared about that. I did puchase alot of neat milks from him but unfortunatly most of my old pics were destoyed in a hurricane i will have to chack with my friend and see if he has any.

The snake may be from Guatamala but its most likely a polyzona.Way to low red band count for abnorma.

I concur!......it falls directly within polyzona meristics(16-22) as opposed to abnorma's RBR count of 20-31.

I always thought that especially if you seen the parents but who was I to argue. It also explains why most of the pics I see of baby polys look just like what was thought to be my baby abnormas. thanks for the info
