First clutch of the season

kcalderala Dec 11, 2007 10:00 AM

They arrived right on day 55 last night and all 6 are doing great! The sight of that little nose sticking out just never gets old.... Merry Christmas to all....

Cheers,

Congrats!

Can you please give me a time line...like how many days after lock up do they lay eggs?

I may have missed ovulation...

Welllll. Obviously a lock doesn't guarantee eggs, The female who laid this clutch went 2 months from last lock to ovulation. If you think you missed ovulation, pay attention to her shed cycle and look for unusual behaviors (ie rolling, long soaks when she never soaked before.... that kind of thing). If I suspect I missed ovulation, I just take not of the shed cycle and signs and if she looks ripe, I assume she's going to drop unless she proves otherwise. Good Luck. Maybe think about picking up kevin's book too, eh?

Cheers,
Kat

More pics of the kids, the first is already out of the egg, the rest are content to sit.
