Is a 20 long cage enough room to house for an adult ball python ?

No. You're looking at least a 40 gallon for an adult.

On wether your talking about a male or female. A 20L is O.K. for the average adult male. Females on the other hand generally grow larger then male thus require a larger enclosure. I use a general rule of 1 squre foot of floor space per foot in lenght of the animal. Hope this helps.

P.S. regardless of what size tank you decide is appropriate for your animal try to seal up at least 90% of the top to help maintain humidity.

Only if it is a very small adult. Males are usually smaller than females, so it might work for a male, but I would get a 30 gallon just to be fair. It's going to be at least a little cramped in a cage that small. Someone mentioned a 40 breeder, that would be the ideal size for an adult ball.
