lifted scales & slight pink belly

dcjketner Dec 11, 2007 07:35 PM

I've noticed over the last week that my ball pythons scales are
kind of lifted up a little in some areas and noticed some light pink/red spots on the under side. The humidity is between 60-70%
He is in a tank by himself. What is going on ? What should I do ?
Any advise would help...

Is that pretty common how that happens ? This is my first ball python, i've had him for 2 months. So I don't know. I know my corn snakes don't do that.

That is the only way I can tell my albino is going into shed, alon with a little color fading. You will also notice that when the snake turns his head, his skin will wrinkle up like he is dehydrated, even though he is not. Hope this helps and one bp is the start to owning many.

My snakes aren't fat, they're big boned.

are some of his scales lifted up ?

Before they turn blue and go into shed, they will get pink bellies and their belly scales will become flaky/rough. Sounds like what is happening to yours -- up the humidity so he sheds well.
