I am going to be acquiring a newly hatched trio of red ackies. As soon as they are ready to be shipped they are going to be on their way.
I know the "right" size for the ackies is the size that works and allows them to do what they need to do in order to be healthy. However, before I cut the plywood and install lights and all, what size enclosure should I keep them in? They will be small(not much more than a few weeks) and I have a 20 gallon long I was thinking of using.
Is it a good idea to go ahead and prep what I need for that cage or will they outgrow it too fast and I should start with a bigger enclosure?
Just trying to save myself trouble in building something I'm only going to use for a month...Not much experience with their growth rates (My group in the past was acquired as sub adults and were put in their permanent set up right away)
