Herps Conservation Unlimited folks were at the Lone Star Reptile Expo in Arlington last weekend.

Lance Benton did a great job manning the table and our raffle for HCU was very successful!

Lot's of folks were interested about HCU and a lot of information was distributed. New members were also signed!

Again, thanks Lance for doing a great job! (even though the karoke thingie didn't work! LOL!

Could not have said it better myself Todd.

We have got things rolling, but we really do need everyone's membership so that we are representing the largest number of people possible. The more people that we speak for the more clout we have! Check out the HCU web site and if you feel our cause is right and just, please sign up.

Thanks, TX folks, for all your efforts.

To folks not in Texas, please think about joining this group in support of their efforts. Even though I'm far from Texas, I joined to help in some meager way.
This is an organization that reflects hobbyist concerns and still has conservation in mind (as opposed to irrational protectionism).
It seems to me it is more analogous to the likes of "Trout Unlimited" where "catch and release" is encouraged, but not mandatory where game laws permit, and members become watchdogs of the land, sport, and animals. TU members and volunteers work positively with "Fish and Game" folks, National Forest folks, National Park folks, etc. to preserve the sport and interests, while maintaining these renewable resources.
This similar approach seems to me to be the win/win balance for the herping hobby!
Just a thought - Nothing more!!!
.
and Happy New Year to all.
