Here's a breakdown of today's adventure. It was slow and too purty to work anymore so up I gets and goes to some of my boardlines to see what is getting tucked in. I know the animals know there is a cold front, and only three herps were found out above ground. All the rest were tucked under plywood and in crayfish holes under ply.
First herp today was the large female indigo previously featured in Nueces county, Texas. I believe she has bred and is settling in her routine getting ready for winter. She was found on the opposite bank sunning under the treeline on top of the hill. She didn't see me, rather sensed or smelled me. She didn't bolt and gave me some good photo ops. When she finally did see me she shot down the hill like greased lightning out of a cannon! Then she mock struck at me and did her reverse cobra thang! She is a great snake. After the photos she did scoot downhill and was gone in a flash!. Here are three shots that came out okay.
