Question

First of all, my female is not fat enough to make eggs.... She is just not breeding weight. She is not an unhealthy snake! She has locked up with a small male. What can I do to get her fatter. She wont eat. I know it is bad and there is no need for ugly comments! I have already been chewed out enough! I just want to help my Ball python.

In fact, "fat" snakes, both males and females, make poor breeders. If she has enough body mass to produce eggs, she will. If not, she wont. If you do get eggs, it will probably be a small clutch, but no big deal. She also may take a couple of rats in the spring before she ovulates...some of mine do.

It might help if you posted her age and weight. IMO age is as big, or even a bigger factor in some cases than weight for females.

If she doesn't have the maturity or fat reserves then it's likely that she won't ovulate and you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If she's off feed she is off feed - nothing you can do about that. If she is border line age/weight wise you keep a close eye on her - chances are even if she lays she'll be ok - but if she is small there is a chance she could have problems passing the eggs.
