my granda wants me to give my my geckos the flies that come from maggots at the fishing tackle shop. he has experience with reptikles but would theese flies b ok to feed them?
any help is much appriciated.

No, fruit flys are low in nutrition. Stick with gut loaded crickets and meal worms, and super worms. Not to mention, how many fruit flys it would take to feed a adult gecko!
I don't think they are referring to fruit flies, but I could be wrong.

Fruit flys are the result of maggots.
so are every other type of fly... house flies, bottle flies, even phoenix worms are the maggots of flies.
