This male Red Bluff had no red at all as a hatchling. but, as he has put on size the red had been bleeding through around. He will be breeding for the first time this year..

Great stuff Mike, I can't believe how big and healthy those 3 year old Red Bluff's are, and I love how that red tipping on the "bleeder phase" alterna!

The very first alterna I ever collected was a similar looking male that I found at Red Bluff back in 2001. It had nice orange wedges withing the black. My buddy Troy Hibbitts took a few shots of it, I'll try and find the pics for you sometime.
Again, awesome snake.
