At what age does my fat tail have to be to eat pinkies? He is around six or seven months old right now. In the meantime is there a once in a while snack i can give him instead? he is feeding on crickets at the moment.

I personally dont feed my Fat tails pinky mice due to the parasite problems they get from them. I dont care much for handeling the frozen ones either. I did try once to give them pinkies but waited till they were a year old.
I do however give them wax worms at least once a week. 2 or 3 maybe. After they lay eggs I give them more than that to help them get back some of the fat they lost from all the work it takes to produce and lay the eggs.
As my own basic rule I wait till they are juvie's to give them wax worms. Thats usually 5 to 6 inches in length or the length of my hand. I'm posting a photo of a juvie that was hatched in May.. nice size and eats really well so from time to time i drop him a wax worm. He also loves meal worms too. So thats another option.

I feed mine pinkies all the time and never had a parasite problem with them. You do have to wait until they are big enough and that just depends on the gecko. Would I feed my year old one a pinkie, no he's not big enough, almost but not quite. I would say if he is big enough to breed then he is big enough for a pinkie.

Ive been giving my babies(not really any more) hatched in April pinkies for a couple months and they really love them. they were already pretty plump and are well fatter than my two year old Leos.
