What would signs of internal damage be?/neigbors messed up

southernpawsc Aug 25, 2003 08:41 AM

We have been out of town for 10 days and left the house and animals for a neighbor to watch. To our horror we came home last nigth and our small RES, Tarzan, wasn't in his tank. Called them panicked and found out the daughter took him out of the tank, forgot and left him on the TOP BUNK of my son's bed.

We searched and finally found him in a corner of the room under the bed. He was out about 3-4 hours. Thank goodness we came home yesterday!!! Anyhow, he seems fine. He's swimming around and doing his normal stuff and his shell isn't damaged at all.

What do you think I should look for. I haven't fed him yet b'c he was fed before we came home last night. I'm sure he'll eat when it's time today and know that's something to look for.

Thanks

At the end, I meant to say, "I know that eating or not is one thing to watch".

If he eats and is acting normally I am sure he is fine. 3-4 hours out of water will not really harm him.

so he presumably feel from the top bunk?
if you are worried you could have him x-rayed at a vet to see if anything is broken, damaged or out of place. i might watch for bloody stools.

OOPS That's what I get for reading posts quickly. Somehow glossed over the entire top of the bunk bed thing.
I agree bloody stool would be a good indicator and perhaps an x-ray to check for any internal damage.

Thanks.......as of right now, he seems fine still. This was yesterday that the fall happened.

He is eating fine, swimming, basking, and running from us as usual, his eyes look good. I will watch his stool. That is one I didn't think about.

Thanks for replying
