My Melamine Cages. The center column is 5' long (L to R) x 3.5' deep x 2' High. The outside columns are 4' x 3.5' x 2'. There are 4 hides built in under the basking areas. They are closed for the winter and 1/2 logs are on the cool side for brumation. The far top cage has no basking area because the dragon in it has no use of his back legs and therefore cannot climb. He has tile laying on shelf liner. The one below has a stepped basking area because he is deformed and only has one normal arm and one normal leg on the same side. He gets up the stairs by putting his chin in the step and tilts his head down then uses his good arm. I tried various ramps but the steps are easier for him than any incline.

This is my enclosure for my adults. Its 4' long by 2 1/2' wide. Each one has a basking spot that can reach up to 105-115 and is connected to a dimmer switch to have complete control. All on digital timers which change for winter months and switch the lights on and off daily.
Thermometer and humidity gauge.
UV light of course and ventilation holes. Hiding spots or half logs on the cool end, high spots to climb.
The enclosure is all made out of melamine and wood framed out for the doors which are held by piano hinges.

Yea, I hear ya, I'm 19 and building cages ain't cheap! I think i spent a little under a thousand for everything, including, sand, lights, timers etc...
The doors are framed out of wood, (painted white)First you need 4 pieces per door like a picture frame. I made a trench in each piece of wood with a table saw to fit the plexiglass. The doors were actually the hardest part. Used silicon to seal and hold the glass in place as well as nails. I had to pre-drill the holes for the nails to prevent splitting the wood.

wow $1000? Mine cost a little over $500 each including 1/4" plate glass, and a Helix Thermostat and there are ways they could be cheapened up somewhat.

I guess you must mean $1000 for 3.
