To Tosha and the others who offered suggestions as to why my female was always cramming herself into her waterbowl.
Tosha's suggestion was stress, and that she didn't have (what she felt were) adequate hides. Since she has been offered cardboard boxes in the past and hasn't liked them, I decided to try a more solid type of hide this time around.
Viola! That very day she stopped constantly sitting in her bowl, and within a week she started eating (voraciously) again. I had originally thought she stopped eating because of the time of year, but I was wrong and it was due to stress. Since she's a little over 1500 grams right now, I am very happy she's eating so well again!
Just thought I'd say thanks, and share an alternate reason for a troublesome eater this time of year!
