Change subject - how do you feel on the viability of tatooing snakes for identity?
Between ventrals, count scales up from vent, 1 dot or 2 dots or 3 dots, up more scales, more dots.
3.2,5.3
would be 3 ventrals up 2 dots and then up 2 more ventrals and 3 dots.
You could designate so many things (identifiers) with a system like that if adopted and standardized.

Not sure how a snake's skin would work. I have seen dogs tattooed but their skin is similar to our own.
