Temp Questions

Tim21087 Dec 13, 2007 05:08 PM

I'm fairly new to JCPs, I've only had mine for a couple of months now. I was wondering what the ideal day time temperature ranges were for them. Also do you lower the temps at night and if so what to?

Tim,
I keep mine at ambient temp between 80 - 85 or so, with it being around 92 under the heat panel, and I drop the ambient temp around 8 degrees at night.

I use the herpstat ND thermostats for all my pythons, and they work great.

Anthony Caponetto has an excellent husbandry article on his site for carpets, which would certainly apply to your JCP- you can't go wrong following what he suggests... he's been doing it a long time, and has some AMAZING animals!

Thank you, that link was very helpful. By the way, that is one great looking snake in your picture.
