? Safe Subterates??

littlefilly Dec 13, 2007 11:24 PM

I currently use a natural potting soil but my plants aren't doing so well. The cresteds are fine.

Can i use the coconut fiber bricks (eac earth, not sure if that the brand I got)?? Is it safe for the cresteds? I friend of mine uses it with her golden geckos and says the plants are doing great and the geckos seem to like it.

I just want to make sure that it is safe for them.

Thank You

yes, i use eco earth for my adults with green moss on top.
how old are your geckos? do you feed live free-roaming prey?

The reason warnersister is asking about free-roaming prey is that any loose substrate can be ingested when hunting (if by "hunting" we mean "falling ungracefully onto a meal" ), so if you feed crickets, don't do it in the enclosure - a separate feeding box lined with paper towels or similar would be appropriate in that situation.
