If Balls are breeding......???

ajfreptiles Dec 14, 2007 06:28 AM

If female balls are locking up, is it a good idea to not offer food at all....or to offer small meals? I noticed females look hungry, and now lock ups stopped. Thanks for any input!

I continue to offer small meals as long as the females will take them. Males will sometimes eat as well, though nnot as often. The females generally stop eating after ovulation, at the latest....

I thank you...I will feed them some small meals....they look like they want to eat, I just worried it might cause some egg bound females....with waste in there for laying time. Thanks again, Andy

If your male and female are at good weights then don't worry about feeding at all until the season is over. I personally like breeding season because its easier on the pocketbook as far as continuing to feed. Everyone is so caught up in feeding, feeding, gotta feed, gotta feed.....if they are at fine weights sit back and fill that pocketbook up!!
