my wild ones(3 mali's) are brumating-not hibernating but brumating-don't see them much at all, once every 3-4 days.2 egyptians still come out everyday(cb of one sort or another) otherwise very boring on the dhub front.i am a little nervous for the mali's though, but otherwise they look well-no weight loss, and seem alert when they do come out. seems the drop in hours was enough to send them in.if i check on them they get PISSED.so i am leaving them alone. the egyptians are less active but stay out almost all day(1 hatchling one 2 year old). the 2 year olds temps are a bit lower but the hatchlings temps are the same as ever, and it's appetite slowed a bit for having less hours of daylight. the sun goes down and they go in.interesting how i dropped the temps a little for the 2yr. old egyptian and i see him more.follows what i have read about their long 3-4 mnth brumation period(not hibernation just reduced activity period) in some people's terraria and also in the wild.think i will begin lowering temps for the malis cuz they ain't coming out for nuthin'.will bring spring in march. that's when the established guys do it right? will recheck all the webpages. don't hit the computer much lately. anyway that is the summary-no harsh winter but the mali's ain't coming out and the egyptians do but slowed down a little. very interesting. thanks to all for all the help-direct and indirect. gotta go -don't get online much anymore-look forward to when i will be able to but the uro's are really not doing much and require much less monitoring so i look at uro things less. don't like this brumating stuff so much it makes me nervous-but i can't stop them, i didn't even lower temps yet and they started.gotta go.
