DMD87 Dec 14, 2007 04:28 PM

i have been wanting to get a false water cobra or a western hognose. but im not sure of the laws pertaining to them. I have been keeping reptiles for 12 years have had many ill tempered snakes.ive only been bit twice and that was by my baby jungle carpet who strikes at the glass when i walk by its cage.if anyone also has any info on their venom and their captive needs that would also be a great help.thanks

Western Hognoses are a protected species in Illinois. I'm fairly certain rearfangs are not legal in Illinois. That's why I moved from there to here!
