You know that Anery? Its actually a high red with some fancy photoshop effects. It was an experiment to see what people would believe and how good at shopping i was. Apperantly no one doubted my pictures, so it was a success. Moral of the story, dont trust kids Anyways when im feeling less lazy ill post files of before after shopping!

You might be surprised, not everyone was fooled for too long. And if I can figure it out, I'm sure others did as well. But my guess is that the folks in this newsgroup wouldn't say anything without definitive proof, cause they are nice people.

Not a bad hoax, though, I'll give you credit.

It's really more a problem for you then everyone on the forum. While some people may have been very interested on seeing how the genetics of a possible new morph strain would work out no one here is out anything from the exercise.

That being said doing things like that directly affect your credibility and image within the community that they are done in. Both of which can be important when in need of help with anything. To quote an old cliche "The boy who cried wolf".

While I make no personal moral judgement on it I felt obligated to point out the consequences in general of that sort of behavior.

All in good fun. I get it. It's cool. I'm glad you didn't let the joke go for too long. This kind of thing could have influenced someone to spend money thinking there was another anery line out there.

i have to say man, i agree with dave and almost everyone else on this. Also, i must divulge the fact that i was a bit suspicious of your "anery" once i saw your little photoshop re-colorations you posted as a reply to me a week or two ago!

oh, and a couple other points for you...
-WV is still better than VA, we seperated into our own state for a reason, lol..
-You're bragging about being good with photoshop? I was the student who never did ONE assignment in any computer class and still got 100% grades every term. Gotta love getting hooked up with paid jobs and clients through your high school, lol. (that's not even considering how much hardware they gave me if it didn't work with ghost, lol)

...It was really not such a clever trick. People have been "tweaking" pics of snakes for quite awhile. You do need to consider that reputation is very important in the reptile community. There are people younger then you making good money breeding and selling reptiles and a big part of their ability to make that money is the fact that they have worked hard to build good reputations. I am not pissed at you and I don't think many people here are seriously pissed either.

The smart thing would have been to post it for a few hours or a day, then reveal the hoax fairly quickly. The longer the hoax when on, the more questionable is the ethics. My opinion.
