blueberry's

taralynn_hughes Aug 25, 2003 10:37 AM

We feed the squirrels that live by our place, and I read that they liked blueberry's. However, they didn't eat them when we baught them, so we decided to give Roan some. He LOVES them. This is the only fruit or vegetable we have gotten him to eat, except a peice of kiwi along time ago, and I don't think he knew what he was doing, cause he would eat a second peice. I've read about all the things they can eat (banana, kiwi, strawberry, melon, lettuce, etc) but can he have blueberry's?

Hi Taralynn,

I see no reason that any fruit cannot be offered - especially if we can eat it and have no ill effects. Just use common sense and don't offer things with seeds than could get stuck... (like cucumber, watermelon, some grapes and the like).

Post some pictures with the "blue lips"... *LOL*

sounds good. I would avoid the "throwing blueberries at my cham" method. They dont like that.

make sure to put them in a nice dish. maybe away from his regular food?

Heck Adam... you took all the fun out of the serving method. Darn!!

Actually, I grate carrots into the food cups and drop in worms, etc. Some of the chams get a bit of veggie with their meat.
....sneaky, I know. **wink**

I just put it on my hand and let it roll down my fingers. He didn't seem to care about it when it wasn't moving. But we hand feed Roan all his worms, so he knows when our hands go in, foods coming!
