>>my silkworms arrived yesterday in a small petri dish. there are 25 of them in there, the petri dish has no air holes in it and condensation is forming on the lid.
>>
>>would it be ok to move them to a ex-cleaned-out cricket box?
>>
I don't see why not.
>>also one of my geckos has recently been staying in the magnetic hide alot (at the cool end of the tank)... the house is pretty cold so maybe shes just slowing down a bit? i took her out and put her on the heat mat and she seemed good but >>has returned to the hide again overnight.
Unless there's some underlying health issue, she's probably just going to the temperature zone where she's most comfortable. Their behavior and activity levels do change with variances in season/average temperature, so winter often slows them down a bit.
>>i put some mealworms in for them and she looked hungry but then my other gecko started feeding and she backed down.. is she being picked on? should i seperate them into two 15 gall tubs?
>>
If you're worried about bullying with regard to food, you could always separate them for feedings. That being said, if there's a dominance issue, you probably are better off to just keep them separately.
>>am i just worring for no reason or is there something wrong? my grandad who is a herp vet is coming down for christams so maybe he should take a look at her?
>>
Vet checkup in-home for free? Why the heck not? Usually it's a trip, which means transportation stress, and usually it costs you money, whereas I imagine your grandfather would look at her for free. Peace of mind is a great thing to have, and when it's free and (relatively) low stress for the gecko, I see zero reason why you shouldn't have it done.
