Size is up to you.
Here are some things that would make your hot room safer.
1 - Solid lockable outer door.
2 - Solid glass or heavy screen inner door (like a porch type door) - This allows you to see if something isn't right in the room without going in.
3 - Heavy screens inside or outside all ventilation ducts/covers.
Thanks alot mate, i will post plans you later
I'll add to the above:
Make the door thresholds tight!

Add to that list
* PROPER TOOLS including tongs and plastic tubs. I would only use tongs in an emergency but, heaven forbid, you got tagged you want to quickly and calmly get the animal into something quickly before seeking medical treatment if at all possible. Tongs and a lockable tub would be the quickest way.
* a bright emergency light that will come on if the power goes out. Not one of those pissy little ones that looks like a night light...but a good one that will provide plenty of light if the power goes out while you have a spazzy cobra on a hook.
* a bite protocol book that contains procedures for every species you keep.
* first aid supplies such as pressure bandages if you keep elapids.
* small signs on each enclosure stating the common and scientific name, as well as the type of venom and recommended antivenin.
* "Removed by owner" signs in case you should remove an animal from the premesis. These are good in case you had a fire/burglary/whatever and first responders show up. If I entered the room, as a first responder, and saw an open enclosure that said "King Cobra" I'd wanna know where the hell the thing was!
Also, avoid providing area that snakes can crawl behind/under/into. I am already working on plans to eliminate those areas from our hot room.
