king snake worries

bulldawgdaddy Dec 15, 2007 10:37 AM

I have had a king snake for three months. He ate twice in the first 3 weeks. Since then he has shed 2 time without taking a meal. He looks like he is going to shed again. He finished his last shed 2 weeks ago.He seems to be healthy. His body is still firm and round. He is extremely active, yet he will not take food when offered. The first feedings went great with f/t fuzzies. Should I be worried? Everyting seems ok, but I am concerned he has not eaten in between sheds. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

It seems this question comes up every few days on here. This is the time of year that kings go off food because they want to shut down for the winter.

Let the snake cool by taking him off heat. He wants to brumate.
