As adults, you're balls will do well in the "CB70" size tubs. As for Racks, I prefer the VISION brand-less expensive, easily put together and movable, and efficient to heat....

Animal Plastics - the best customer service if you need help.
They are easy to assemble and just as easy to disassemble if you need to move them. Something to consider if there is any chance you may be relocating. Ever notice how many racks are for sale in the classifieds and listed as "pickup only".
They are top quality, work well, and use boxes that are readily available. I use the model that accepts sterilite 1756/32qt boxes sideways or 2 1754 boxes lengthwise per shelf. This is a nice feature. The same shelf can accomodate an adult or two sub-adults.

best rack made and for the money you cannot pass on are the racks produced by Vision. you can use the rack produced for the 32 qt for all but the biggest adults (a 2500g female can easily theroregulate in these tubs) and you can also use 2 15qt tubs per lvl if you choose. The good thing is if you find a tub that has the same footprint or smaller you can modify the gap between lvl's to accomodate the new tub. Name another rack that is adjustable, there isn't one.

so a 32qt( 23.5 x 17 x 6 ) tub is goodfor an adult ball python?

JeffK Dec 16, 2007 06:21 PM

167 watts of heat okay? for adults?

Brandon Osborne Dec 16, 2007 07:31 PM

Wattage means nothing. It's the amount of heat output that matters. A one foot strip of 11"/10 watt flexwatt puts out more heat than a one foot strip of 3"/10 watt flexwatt. Some are just more efficient.

And BTW, I have some rather large adult females in 28 qt. Rubbermades. They love it.

32 qt tubs are all I use for adults. I have a 4000g female in one that does great in it. She eats great, and gave me 12 eggs last season. I may give her a bigger tub if she gets much larger but I don't really see her putting much more size on.

i second the 32qt. i have a jasons jungle sideways that my adults are in. my 800 gram 100% male albino is even in the 15 qt. i do however have a 1960 rack from AP. only reason i got that is for my borneos. im going to put a couple of big balls in there tho but 32 is perfectly fine.
