I recently procured a pair of young (9" Wags from a local source. The dealer did not know where they came from or if they were C/B or F/C. The discription follows...
Both are typical in structure for a Wagler's, moreover, the twin spotted pattern and eye stripe are consistant with juv Sumatrans. It is the color that raises the question. The Dorsal color is a dull greenish to greenish blue fading to a pale powder blue on the flanks. the veneer is white. The eye stripe is mahogany as are half of each spot on the dorsum (the other half being white).
I have never seen young Wags that look like this before. Any ideas on what they are and where they're from? Frank

Borneo (Kalamatran?), maybe? Can you post a pic?

Will try to post it when the wife gets home....This technical stuff is her thing. We suspect the possibility of Kalimatan....but we are unfamiliar with the appearance of juv's. They do seem to be getting bluer...At first I thought it was a shed situation except the eyes remain quite clear. Frank

Where did you get the babies from.? I had a litter of baby Waglers that I sold two weeks ago to a buddy in PA.

Actually... a friend owed me money so he showed up at my doorstep with the pair, which he procured from the dealer, thinking they were Sumatran. He is now contemplating suicide..... Frank
